The UK based Qibla Cola Company Ltd. (http://www.qibla-cola.com/), which was founded by Derby based businesswoman Zahida Parveen fully supports the ‘Muslim Unity Action March’ to the embassies of the Muslim world. The march has been organised by the Muslim community in the UK to exert pressure upon the embassies of the Muslim world to stop the impending colonialist war on Iraq.
Demonstrators will be demanding for the Muslim world to stand up to the Western powers, support the Muslims of Iraq and stop all assistance to the aggression of America and Britain. They will be delivering a petition signed by tens of thousands of Muslims from across the UK.
Zafer Iqbal, MD of Qibla Cola, will speak on the day as well as other Muslim personalities.
Derby based Zafer Iqbal said, “Qibla Cola joins the millions of Muslims around the globe in condemning this unjust colonialist war and calls upon the rulers of the Muslim world to put a stop to this war decisively. It is the governments of the Muslim world who have the power to stop this war by disallowing America and its allies from using their land, airspace, waterways and logistics to perpetrate it. Without the cooperation of these regimes it would be virtually impossible for America to invade Iraq.”
Dr Imran Waheed, a UK based doctor and March organiser said, “Muslims in Britain, and around the world, are looking towards the armies of the Muslim world to protect the Muslims of Iraq.”
The peaceful protest will convene this Saturday 15th March 2003 starting at 11 a.m. at Marble Arch, London and marching towards Belgrave Square, convening there at 1 p.m. There will be speeches in English at the beginning of the march and at its culmination. Speeches will be delivered by Walid Gubara of the Islamic political party Hizb ut-Tahrir, Abdullah Vivash, a Vietnam war veteran, and Fuad Nahdi of Q News, among others. Delegations will be sent to the diplomatic missions of Pakistan, Syria, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Qatar and Turkey.
